French & Country is a Provincial hideaway in the Southern Highlands of NSW.  It is a salon of homewares, furniture and unique pieces that are thoughtfully chosen because of their character, colour and patina. Suzie Anderson started French & Country 8 years ago following the sale of their beloved country holiday house.  Having spent a few years collecting rustic, timeworn pieces that she lovingly restored, to fill the rambling weatherboard house, when the time came to sell, the pieces were relocated to the Sydney Antique Centre where she had a small stand.  Over time, her collecting particularly favoured European pieces, with a preference to original painted pieces and the faded greys, whites and sage greens that are still a common thread throughout the showroom.

Over recent years, a Belgian influence has been introduced, adding a more contemporary, masculine balance to the rustic collection.

Set within the grounds of the Historic Hopewood Estate, French & Country occupies the old stables.  Through a series of Open Days and private appointments, customers and guests are welcomed to this little piece of France in the Highlands.

OPENING HOURS:   Next Open Weekends  are on 11,12,13 June  and 18,19,20 June  2010 from 10am-5pm.  Or, open by appointment.
